The seriously stylish summer wedding trends you’ll want to know about

Here at The Wedding Room, our goal is to always to bring oodles of chicness to your wedding day and one way we achieve this is by staying ahead of the latest trends. You’d be forgiven for thinking that the world of weddings isn’t dominated by trends and to a degree, this is true. However, as more and more couples aim to create a day which is unlike any other, we have witnessed changing trends in the industry. Each season, we are met with a wave of new ideas, stunning designs and unique features, and as we are in the midst of summer wedding season, now is the perfect time to round-up the stylish summer wedding trends that you’ll want to know about.

Living coral

This year, Pantone named the queen of corals – Living Coral – as its Colour of the Year, so it isn’t surprising that the colour is making an appearance at weddings worldwide. The happy hue definitely has a place at weddings so we are happy to see its infusion. Like any colour, coral can be used in a multitude of ways. For brides who dare to go bold, it’s the perfect bridesmaid dress choice, while its place in bouquets nods to the trend, without going overboard. This summer, coral is proving its versatility, and in particular, we’ve loved seeing its use in combination with metallic and rose golds for a luxe finish.

Brining the outdoors in

Summer is undeniably all about the great outdoors and while here in Northern Ireland, the weather isn’t exactly always on our side, we’ve loved seeing how brides embrace the trend, by bringing a touch of nature inside. Rustic garden party table settings, fantastic use of foliage, dramatic floral displays, flower walls and an infusion of pampas grass are just a few of the ways you can embrace this trend.

When it comes to flowers this summer, brides are veering from perfectly put-together bouquets and centerpieces, in favour of a beautiful abundance of greenery, long-stemmed flowers and dramatic shower bouquets.

The Royal touch

It isn’t surprising that the Royals continue to pave the way for bridal trends, with simple sophistication reigning supreme this summer. Both Duchess Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie are to thank for an elegant approach to bridalwear, with more and more ladies allowing their natural beauty to shine through, thanks to their choice of simple, yet stylish wedding dresses. Simple definitely doesn’t mean boring though. This style is all about terrific tailoring and gorgeous silhouettes with interesting cut out detailing and embellishment sparking intrigue, while brides are evoking their own personal style through their choice of accessories.

Venues with a difference

Northern Ireland is home to a wealth of amazing hotels but we’ve noticed that couples are choosing to think outside of the box and opt for venues with a difference this summer. Engaging settings such as rooftops, industrial spaces, barns, breweries, museums and galleries are winning choices. These #instaworthy wedding venues will have guests snapping happy and sharing your amazing wedding venue with the world.

Bold, bright hues

Summer really is the season of colour and we’ve loved seeing how couples are getting creative with it. Colour blocking is an easy way to inject huge amounts of colour and get in on those festival vibes. Mixing coloured candles with mismatched vases full of a wide spectrum of bold blooms is an easy way to ensure your wedding décor stands out from the rest. Elegantly complete your reception room by adding soft draping or finishes to chairs to keep the look distinctly stylish.
